There are several options to go to and from the three metropolitan area airports:

JFK

International and domestic flights, 15 miles (24km) southeast of midtown Manhattan

 

From JFK to Manhattan

  1. Taxi: $50.00 +/-. Take yellow cabs only.

  2. Bus Co: $15.00. The New York Airport Service bus company takes you to the Port Authority, Grand Central Terminal and Penn Station*.

  3. Van: -door to door-: $21.00. The Super Shuttle Van service takes you to your final destination. Note: this service drops everyone on board individually, so if its full it might take you a while to reach your destination*.

  4. AirTrain + Subway: $7.00. ($5 Airtrain +$2 Subway). The  AirTrain service has three lines 1. Connection between the airport terminals (free ride). 2. The Howard Beach line that connects to the Howard Beach A Line subway station  (see the City Transportation section for fare information) 3. The Jamaica - Long Island Rail Road line that connects to the E, J and Z subway lines as well as local bus lines and the Long Island Rail Road. In order to use the AirTrain service, simply follow the signs with the AirTrain logo, pay the fare, get on the rail line that best fits your travel needs and connect to the subway system to Manhattan. *For options 2 and 3 go to the ground transportation information booth at the arrival terminal and make a reservation.

 

From Manhattan to JFK

Same pricing as above.

  1. Taxi: grab a taxi from the street or call 212-666-6666 to schedule a pickup (recommended).

  2. Bus Co: You can take the New York Airport Service bus at Grand Central, Port Authority Terminal and Penn Station.

  3. Van: Call the Super Shuttle preferably one day before departure at 1-800-BLUEVAN and schedule a pickup.

  4. Subway + AirTrain: take the A train to "Far Rockaway" or Rockaway Beach", get off at HOWARD BEACH station and switch to the Airtrain rail services. Or take the E, J or Z lines to Sutphin Blvd.-Archer Ave. subway station and switch to the Airtrain rail service to JFK. Airport personnel are at the station to assist passengers.

La Guardia

Mostly domestic flight, 8 miles (13km) east of Manhattan.

 

From La Guardia to Manhattan

  1. Taxi: $30.00 +/-. Take yellow cabs only.

  2. Van: $16.00. The Super Shuttle Van service  takes you to your final destination. Note: this service drops everyone on board individually, so if its full it might take you a while to reach your destination.

  3. Bus Co: $12.00 The New York Airport Service bus company takes you to Port Authority, Grand Central Terminal and Penn Station.

  4. Public Transportation: $2.00 a) the M60 bus stops outside the arrivals terminal at street level and takes you to 106th Street and Broadway in Manhattan (last stop).  b) the Q33 bus stops outside the arrivals terminal at street level and takes you to the 74th Street-Broadway subway station (Queens) where you will take the number 7 subway. The bus stop is one block away from the subway station. Enter the station, pay the fare and go to the Manhattan bound platform. For tokens and MetroCard options see our Transportation section.

From Manhattan to La Guardia

Same pricing as above.

  1. Taxi: grab a taxi from the street or call 212-666-6666 to schedule a pickup (recommended).

  2. Bus Co: You can take the New York Airport Service bus at Grand Central, Port Authority Terminal and Penn Station

  3. Van: Call the Super Shuttle preferably one day before departure at 1-800-BLUEVAN and schedule a pickup.

  4. Public Transportation:  a) The M60 bus runs between 106th Street & Broadway and La Guardia (see the bus map for bus stops along the way) b) Take the number 7 train that leaves from Times Square (lower level) and get off at 74th Street-Broadway. Leave the subway station and follow the signs to bus stop Q33.This bus takes you to La Guardia airport.

Newark

International and domestic flights, 10 miles (16km) west of Manhattan in New Jersey.

 

From Newark to Manhattan

  1. Taxi: $55.00 +/-. Get a taxi at the airport taxi stop.

  2. Van: $21.00. The Super Shuttle Van service  takes you to your final destination. Note: this service drops everyone on board individually, so if its full it might take you a while to reach your destination.

  3. Bus:  $15.00 Olympia Bus to Port Authority  

From Manhattan to Newark

Same pricing as above.

  1. Taxi: grab a taxi from the street or call 212-666-6666 to schedule a pickup (recommended).

  2. Van: Call the Super Shuttle preferably one day before departure at 1-800-BLUEVAN and schedule a pickup.

  3. Bus: Take the Olympia  at Port Authority (ground level)

Airport Transfers

 

Between JFK and La Guardia and vice-versa

  1. Bus*: $11 The New York Airport Service bus provides service between JFK & La Guardia. For schedule information and reservations visit www.nyairportservice.com

Between JFK and Newark and vice-versa

  1. Shuttle*: $27. The Airporter provides service between Newark and JFK. For schedule information and reservations visit www.goairporter.com
