Lord & Taylor: 424 5th Ave. (at 38th St.) Renowned department store sells a variety of formal and business casual wear.
Macy’s: Broadway at 34th Street. One of NYC's most famous icons of shopping opened in 1902. With 10 floors and half a million items for sale.
Saks Fifth Ave.: 611 5th Ave. One of the most famous retailers in the world, this elegant department store has been dressing the well-heeled since 1902. Saks Fifth Avenue welcomes all to shop amid its luxurious environment for men's and women's clothing, jewelry, cosmetics, fragrances and accessories.
South Street Seaport: Fulton St & East River. Shopping complex. Lots of clothing stores and restaurants. The view of the Brooklyn Bridge is spectacular from the top floor of the shopping mall.
Note: Sellers of fake Rolex watches, Fendi, Gucci and Coach bags are stationed on sidewalks on 5th Ave. while Canal Street is lined with a huge number stores and street vendors that sell counterfeit watches and clothes. Don't be fooled.
Do not buy electronics from the stores on Fifth Ave.; they have a bad reputation of selling refurbished equipment to tourists. Avoid them. The following stores are reliable retailers for computers, electronics and home products.
B&H: 34th St & 9th Ave. The store for photographic equipment and accessories. Best Buy: 23rd St. & 6th Ave.
CompUSA: 5th Ave. & 37th St., 57th St. & Broadway J&R Music World, Computer World: Park Row (across the street from City Hall Park)
HMV: 5th Ave. & 46 St., 42nd St off 8th Ave. Tower Records: Broadway & 4th St, .Broadway & 66th St., Marks Place: there are many music stores on St. Marks. You can buy new and used official, rare, and bootleg cd's, and vinyl records.
Musical Instruments and Accessories Go to 48th Street between Broadway and 6th Ave. and you will find a number of stores specialized in musical instruments and accessories. Names like Sam Ash, Alex Music, Rudy's Music Stop, 48th Street Custom Guitars.
You can get perfumes at any of the department stores listed above, but if you want to get a great deal, go to the wholesale perfume area at Broadway between 27th and 30th St. The stores don't look too pretty but the perfumes are real deals.

FAO Schwartz: 5th Ave, & 58th St. This world-famous toy emporium is a treat for all visitors to New York City. Prices are higher than a regular toy store.
Toys R' Us: Broadway &.44th St. and 24-30 Union Square. Large toy store at affordable prices.
